Our Supported Independent Living assistance helps participants manage everyday life at home with the right balance of support, choice, and independence.
Home is where routines are built, meals are shared, decisions are made, and everyday life unfolds. Smiling Heart provides practical assistance to help participants manage daily activities at home while remaining involved in how they want their life to look.
We take the time to understand personal routines, preferences, goals, and the level of assistance someone requires. From personal care and meals to household responsibilities and getting out into the community, support is shaped around the individual rather than expecting the individual to fit around the household.
Supported Independent Living can include assistance across many parts of everyday life. We focus on creating the right balance between providing help and encouraging participants to remain involved in their own routines and choices.
Assistance with personal care and everyday routines at home.
Support planning, preparing, and enjoying meals.
Help with cleaning, laundry, organisation, and daily responsibilities.
Opportunities to practise everyday skills and gradually do more independently.
Support maintaining activities, relationships, and connections outside the home.
Help creating routines that make home life feel organised and predictable.
Living more independently does not mean having to do everything alone. It means having appropriate support available while still being able to make choices, build skills, and have a say in your own everyday life.
Smiling Heart aims to provide assistance without unnecessarily taking over. We encourage participants to be involved in their home and routines in whatever way feels right for them, with consistent support there when it is needed.
